Dmitry Tkachenko was born in Kyiv and began playing violin and piano at the age of six. After studying at the Kyiv Special Music School. Lysenko and at the National Music Academy of Ukraine (NMAU) in the class of Bogodar Kotorovich and Yaroslava Rivnyak, were invited to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London to the Iraf Neman class, where he received the Concert Diploma (Premier Prix), and A little later, along with a master's degree, - was a member of the Council of the Guildhall Academy, and was trained at David Tachenot and Krestof Smetana by 2008. In parallel graduated from the NMAU graduate school. Dmitry actively tours in Ukraine, in many countries of Europe, Asia and the two Americas. His performances were broadcast by Ukrainian radio and TV, Russian ORT and Culture channel, Danish radio, BBC Radio 3 (Great Britain), Polish radio and TV, etc. Among his recent performances are Tchaikovsky's concert with the Budapest MAV Symphony Orchestra in the hall of the Lest Academy in Budapest, Tchaikovsky's concert with Russia's Radio and Television Orchestra in Moscow, Walton's concert with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra in Ankara (Turkey) at the 26th Ankara Music Festival , Tchaikovsky's concert with the Royal Philharmonic in London at Cadogan Hall, as well as a number of solo concerts, including the Hida-Takayama Music Festival (Japan). Simultaneously with active concert activities, Dmytro teaches at the National Music Academy of Ukraine (since 2006), is regularly invited to the jury of international competitions, gives master classes, as well as co-founder and artistic director of the International Music Competition. Since 2008, Dmitry Tkachenko regularly plays in Dnipropetrovsk with the Philharmonic Orchestra.
